The KNS Group is a multi-business global enterprise with diversified business interests in various sectors such as FMCG, textiles, manufacturing, trading and distribution, real estate, hotels, banking, import/export, E-Commerce and movies production and recreation parks across Indonesia, South East Asia, India, Africa, Europe, Middle East and Australia.

The company started as a carpet retail shop in 1968 in Surabaya, Indonesia and has now grown to become Indonesia’s and one of Southeast Asia’s largest carpet and flooring manufacturing and trading companies. In mid-eighties, we diversified into banking operations and starting late-nineties in manufacturing of toiletries with Nigeria and Indonesia as manufacturing hubs. The trading arm of KNS Group deals in FMCG products, primarily focusing on food & beverages, confectioneries, personal care products, and health and possess decades of experience in trade, with offices and warehouses located in Singapore, Indonesia, USA, Dubai and Rotterdam. Expanding our scope in entertainment, KNS Group launched its movie production house in 2018 and took selective ownership in the Indonesian operations of Bounce Street, a chain of global indoor trampoline parks worldwide.

In addition, KNS Group also has investments in prominent hotel chains across Indonesia and the UK, such as Hilton Hotels and Travelodge. We have selective investments through venture capital firms to participate in the start-up ecosystem in the South East Asian region and beyond, as well as dealing in integrated financial service businesses.

History

A History of KNS

1968

KNS Group (Kodumal Naraindas & Sons) started its journey as a small family-owned carpet shop in one of Surabaya’s antique streets in 1968.

1983

After continuing to grow over 15 years, the family-owned shop was established as a company and has then grown and expanded its scope of fields into the conglomerate group that we know today.

1989

As their carpet business kept growing, the family group started its banking venture, by taking full ownership of Bank Pasar Swadesi in 1989 and was then re-named to Bank Swadesi. As a strategic step to anticipate its growth in the banking division, Bank Swadesi was acquired by Bank of India through a majority stake and changed its name to Bank of India Indonesia in 2007.

1998

Situated in the heart of Tangerang's (Indonesia) elevated industrial complex, PT Classic Intermark was established in 1998 and continues to excel in the soap manufacturing industry. Classic Intermark delivers a diverse product range comprised of specially formulated products that have not only won multiple awards, but are also eco-friendly and biodegradable.

2000

Universal Carpet and Rugs was established over 20 years ago and is now one of the largest, globally recognized carpet manufacturing and mercantile units. The business has since won several prizes and supplies to chain stores in over 30 countries worldwide in USA, Australia, Equador, Japan, South Africa to Sweden.

2001

PT Damai Karya Abadi was established as the trading arm of KNS Group deals in FMCG products, primarily focusing on food & beverages, confectioneries and toiletries. The company retains decades of trading experience, with offices and warehouses located in Singapore, Indonesia, USA, Dubai and Rotterdam.

2004

As the group expands its wings, Classic Soap Industries Nigeria Limited was incorporated in 2004 as an associate of PT Classic Intermark of Indonesia and its main markets include Nigeria and West Africa Sub Regions. The business specializes in manufacturing high quality soaps, detergents, toothpastes, hand washes and body lotions. Classic Soap Industries Nigeria Limited is now a member of the Manufacturer Association of Nigeria, MAN.

2014

KNS Group’s domestic distribution network, Klasik Distribusi Indonesia, was established focusing on consumer goods, personal care products, and health and gym equipment. The company has since partnered with some of the largest retails, key chains, e-commerce, and distributors companies in Indonesia.

2014

In the same year, KNS Group widened its scope in the entertainment industry, the group invested in Indonesia’s first trampoline park, Bounce Street Asia and paved the way for Bounce School, Indonesia’s first ever Trampoline School built with the latest equipment and an in-house plush café.

2017

The group invested in Greenhouse, an early-stage tech company. Based in Singapore, the company is Asia’s first marketplace from which customers can procure corporate services such as incorporation, directorship, payroll, taxes, accounting etc., and a SAAS solution providing workflow efficiencies for Corporate Service providers.

2018

Anami Films was established in 2018. Our first project was released in August 2018. The company is dedicated in producing and distributing a diverse range of movie genres, music videos, and animation series, and strategically collaborates with international and domestic production houses.
